Welcome back St. Louis Blues. Lets give GM Doug Armstrong a round of applause for bringing back nearly the entire 2019 Championship team. The only subtraction is home-town hero Pat Maroon, who scored one of the greatest St. Louis Blues in franchise history.
I don’t need to tell you what goal.
You remember it.
You remember where you were, what you were doing, who you hugged first, who you called first, and every part of your celebration that night. To be honest, I don’t know if any team has brought back 95% of a championship team the following year, but its happening.
I feel like Michael Scott from The Office. “ITS HAPPENING, STAY F#<|<ING CALM.” Wouldn’t it be great if we had everybody? I cant lie to you and say I don’t want Pat here for 2020, but lets get serious.
That’s like asking the Titanic to stay afloat. Its just a matter of time. But what if… What if there was a way? The only way would be if Tampa Bay tanks this year, and halfway through the season they become sellers. St. Louis gives up a low pick and for the remainder of 2020, you have the entire 2019 Championship Blues on ice. I know, I know… the story of Santa Clause is fable, but Santa was there for the Stanley Cup.
There’s always hope.
Merry Christmas and a Happy Blue Year Blues fans.
