Over 22 million trees were planted in Scotland last year

Last year to help deal with the climate change emergency Scotland planted over 22 million trees. Over 27,000 acres or (11,000 hectares). With more trees planted in Scotland than anywhere else in the U.K.

Most of the news trees are planted in the north. And a little under half of the trees planted are broadleaves which support greater biodiversity than traditional plantations of conifers.
