Your Company Is Spying on You

Companies like Barclay, for example, were spying on workers until media backlash stopped them.

Amazon warehouses are trying to get employees to wear wristbands. The patent says that it is a “Ultrasonic bracelet and receiver for detecting position in 2D plane”. Amazon filed the patent in March 2016.

In 2018 Walmart filed a patent for “sound sensors” that could be installed in strategic locations throughout its stores, giving bosses the ability to pick up and store conversations happening, for example, between employees stocking shelves, or between cashiers and customers. This technology can arguably be good in good hands, but clearly bad in the wrong hands. We are giving up too much personal freedom to barely breathe in this generation.
